West Wittering Beach - Safety & Facilities Hub
One of our main aims is to ensure the safety of everyone who visits the beach.
We are delighted to share our exciting plans for a new lifeguard tower, designed to support this aim. It will provide state-of -the-art lifeguard facilities and major improvements to the public toilets and showers.
West Wittering Beach attracts 1 million visitors annually, with up to 20,000 people on a busy day in the height of summer.
Each year an average of:
190 people require Lifeguard assistance in the water via rescue board or jet ski rescue
165 need medical assistance for cuts and bruises to cardiac arrest
300 missing persons, predominantly children, are reunited with their families
This has created a need for upgraded public amenities for our visitors’ convenience and modern safety facilities to support or Lifeguard and Operations Teams in managing the beach effectively.
Our proposal for a new Safety and Facilities Hub aims to achieve this.
